ERUPTION - VAN HALEN TRIBUTE BAND
Guitarist Al Estrada from 'Eruption'
Recently I was contacted by an amazing guitarist named Al Estrada about joining his Van Halen tribute band "Eruption". Eruption has been around off and on in the Los Angeles area for quite a few years, nearly as long as the venerable Atomic Punks.
Initially I declined for three reasons:
- David Lee Roth is an amazing onstage dynamo
- Ralph has the VH tribute thing nailed and is wildly successful
- The DLR caberet rock god persona was not my normal shtick
Then Al called again and stroked my ego and of course I said "Well, okay!"
Eruption is a GREAT band for Al to display the awesome guitar pyrotechnics of Eddie Van Halen.
Me? Well, we'll see. It's going to be an interesting ride!
