David Victor "Solo"

Click here to buy Proof Through The Night at CD Baby!1991's "Proof Through The Night" remains the one and only "solo" release from David Victor. This album was an early hint of the pop-rock stylings of what was to become the much heavier "Impact". "Proof" was a light-weight album, featuring guitar-driven pop a-la Rick Springfield, John Waite and Journey, among other bands you never hear of anymore.

"Proof" featured the punchy "Getaway Machine" as the opening track which sets the tone nicely for the rest of the album. The song builds from a low rumble to a full-out pop-fest with soaring vocals and an effective solo.

MTM released "Proof" in Europe to the normal below-the-radar fanfare (think "throw it at the wall, see if it sticks") and AVEX in Japan did similarly.

Most hardcore fans of "Impact" seemed to appreciate the album however, and PTTN did respectably in the U.S., selling a smidge over 2000 copies.
